Rumor has it that the Philadelphia born band Silvertide might be breaking up. Due to pressure from their record company to "modernize" their sound, the band is basically split into two camps at this point and things aren't looking too good.

Fans may remember that in January of 2006 the band cancelled it's entire tour and issued the following statement through their MySpace page: " Some of you have asked about rumors of Silvertide cancelling their upcoming tour. The rumors are TRUE. All future Silvertide tour dates are cancelled and the band is going back into the studio to record their next record. The circumstances are odd and the story is long-winded but the bright side is that next time you see the band you'll hear all new stuff. We look forward to seeing everyone in the summer."

The band's new website www.silvertidelive.com has yet to fully lauch and is only featuring a "Coming Soon" message along with a new video clip at this point.
