Yeah that’s right, this record gets a 10, why? Well just because the whole album kicks ass, plain and simple…what else do you need? there’s not a single bad song in here, in fact all the songs are great!, the band sounds more heavy and inspired compared to the songs on “Bad sneakers and a pina colada” their second and most famous album, which I hate because they sound fluffy and boring, (trying to sound like Oasis didn’t help either) but anyway, thankfully that’s not the case here.

The production on this record its amazing too, it makes the band sound ballsier and with a more modern touch.

The lyrics are a little weird and sometimes they don’t make a lot of sense, probably because like me, English it’s not their first language, (they are from Sweden) but who cares? with songs this good you have the right to say “fuck off” to any spell police…

The songs topics are a little weird too, for example the first 4 tracks, “kick on the upper class”,” bag on your head”, ”last forever” etc… are about a guy who goes to a rich party as a male prostitute? Or on “we don’t celebrate Sundays” where the live show gets compared to a religion ceremony, talk about originality on the lyrics…
Don’t worry there’s also a lot of sleazy songs too, like “wild boys”, “simple man” or “my good reputation”.

The last track is the only ballad on the album, “on the verge” and it is great! I haven’t heard a ballad this good for a long time, fuck sappy love ballads!, this is a song about a lonely man dealing with his soul and his emotional feelings, just fucking awesome!.

I think with this record Hardcore Superstar have establish themselves as the best hard rock band in Sweden right now, they and Babylon Bombs are now taking the place that used to belong to bands like Backyard Babies and The Hellacopters.
I highly recommend this album!!
